On Wednesday, December 18, 2013, Christmas in the woods took place at Hicks Tract in Stirling, New Jersey. Troop 59 scouts, their parents, troop leaders, and Pack 59 scouts and parents came to this joyful event. Everyone sang Christmas songs and many skits were performed by scouts while making cake in the Dutch oven. These skits included Hawaiian punch, the fortune teller, and many more. Jonathan Soldan read The Cremation of Sam McGee, the tradition of the troop. After many laughs, cider and cake were served by Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Mascia. As usual, everyone wished each other a Merry Christmas after the event.
